Uga VII Dead - Georgia Mascot Uga VII Died

HotNews:Five years old English Bull dogs Uga VII died on November 19, 2009, from a heart attack. His father Uga VI also died of heart problem. The name of a lineage of English Bulldogs owned by Frank W. Seiler, which have served as the mascot of the University of Georgia (UGA) since 1956.

Uga VII was named as "Uga VI's Loran's Best" on Friday August 29, 2008, the day before the school's first home game of the 2008 season. He was officially introduced on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at that game against Georgia Southern, and his record stood at 16-7 which UGA won.

According to the CNN News, "This is a very sad day for the Seiler family but also for all Georgia people," said Damon Evans, University of Georgia director of athletics in a university news release. "Just as his ancestors, he had captured the hearts of college football fans everywhere as the country's No. 1 mascot. He had been truly embraced by all those who follow the Georgia Bulldogs across the country. We will miss him dearly."
