Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is warning a text message scam is targeting Ohioans who receive unemployment benefits. The Unemployment recipients receive a scam text messages that alerts the unemployment benefits have been suspended.
their recipients are directed to call the provided fraudulent text messages on their cell phone number where they are asked for their personal information including debit card numbers and PINs. By providing this information scammers are able to withdraw monies deposited on the card.
